We arrived in Glasgow, Scotland the morning of the October 20th and our tour guides had a busy day planned for us! Our first stop was Edinburgh Castle, a very impressive first stop. After that, we made an unscheduled trip to the top of Calton Hill and viewed the monuments. The final stop for the day was a Scottish Celidh where there was tons of food and good entertainment. And don't forget the haggis - a scottish delicacy of ground meat and other stuff (you don't want to know!) The plan was to tire us out so much the first day that we would sleep soundly that night dispite the 6 hour time difference. It work, kind of, but there were a lot of heads nodding off to sleep after we finished dinner!
After a restful nights sleep, we set our for a tour of Edinburgh proper, the Athens of the North. We saw the Walter Scott Monument, Prince's Street, Holyrood Palace, Stl Giles Cathedral and homes of famous Scots.
